Sports Fishing in Fort Lauderdale

Sports fishing in Ft.Lauderdale is both one of the most relaxing and exciting things to do in Fort Lauderdale. Some of the biggest and most sought after gamefish in the world are landed only 1 mile off the Ft Lauderdale coast. We started off our trips with a 10 minute rode out Fort Lauderdale's intracoastal waterway, where I could see some of the South Florida beautiful waterway homes.

We finally had caught ten fishes such as Bonito, Blackfin tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Kingfish by trolling. If you like fishing, it's definitely worth trying.

Road To Everglades

 

This September, I had a chance to visit Everglades National Park where at nearly 1.5 million acres in size, the park provides important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. 

This was my first visit to Florida and It took me about three hours to get from Laguardia Airport, New York to Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Warm weather and many small lizards welcomed me. I had really relaxed and enjoyed subtropical nature during the stay.

007 SKYFALL

New 007 is back!!. I have been a 007 fan since I first watched 007 Octopussy at 1983 when I was 9 years old. I have not realized that almost 30 years have passed since then. Time really fries!!

James Bond Films celebrate 50th year anniversary. Some of the scenes surprisingly would make old 007 fan grin. Even though the main characters are constantly replaced, Bond films have firmly kept the tradition.

Amazing thing about Bond film is that the opening sequence could be the highlight of the film is gorgeously used, so that always excites me.

One more thing I want to mention is the images of the cinematographer Roger Deakins. I was really impressed with the assassination scene of Shanghai that dim blue light and the reflection of light are effectively used. That is one of the best thrilling and stylish scenes I have ever seen. His images are very creative and inspiring and would affect my photo works.

 今は亡きカメラ好きだった祖父と、初めて007の映画を見に行ったのは、確か９歳か１０歳の頃で、川崎の映画館で見た１９８３年製作の３代目ボンド、ロジャームーアが主演していた００７オクトパシーでした。あれから約３０年。何かとても感慨深く感じます。それ以前にも、その当時月曜ロードショーという荻昌弘氏が、映画の解説をしていた番組で、００７がしばしばテレビで放映されていて、いつもその番組を見ていたので、おそらくその影響で００７が好きになったと思います。

NYC Bass Fishing

Since NYC is one of the densely packed city in the world, I had never thought that NYC was a suitable spot to go bass fishing, but that was totally wrong. I did some research and I have found that there are several lakes and ponds where I can catch largemouth bass. 

Central Park, Prospect Park, and Silver lake are known to bass anglers as great bass fishing spots. Before you go, there are rules and regulations. You need to check this site out!! http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7917.html

I have been to these lakes this year. Central Park has great potential to get a huge bass, but It is easy to get distracted by many tourists, so it is hard to find a quiet fishing spot. When I cast a lure, most of time I think of nothing in particular, thus fishing is kind of meditation or ralaxation therapy for me. It is really hard to explain it, but that is true.

So I really like Silver Lake that is located in the north Staten Island. It might be far from Manhattan or Queens, but this lake has peaceful suburb atmosphere, you can relax and enjoy fishing. When I went to Silver Lake for the first time this June, I caught 7 bass between 5 and 15 inch sizes. It was such a delightful day. 

Some people might think that fishing is boring. That might be true, if you don't get a fish, but once you catch a fish, you might be hooked on it, because especilly largemouth bass fight hard, pull a line strongly, and jump on the water surface, so you might feel the adrenaline flow.
