The Cloisters

NY is getting warmer little by little toward spring. I have finally come out from hibernation. I am really glad to go out and enjoy my favorite leisure activity.

Last week, escaping the hustle and bustle of a big city, I finally had a chance to visit the Cloisters Museum where I had been wanting to go. 

"The Cloisters, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe, was assembled from architectural elements, both domestic and religious, that date from the twelfth through the fifteenth century.The Cloisters collection comprises approximately three thousand works of art from medieval Europe, dating from about the ninth to the sixteenth century." The Cloisters is located in Fort Tryon Park in north western Manhattan. The park is a really wonderful place to walk around. You can look down on the Hudson River from the park. It is really a spectacular view.

The collection of the Cloisters is religious but really familiar, so it makes me feel at peace. It is one of the definitely worth visiting places in NYC.

  

Howling Blizzard

The day after Christmas, north east has been hit by a severe winter storm. 

According to AAP, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey have declared states of emergency while New York, Philadelphia and Boston announced snow emergencies.

Most flights were canceled and bus companies also canceled services up and down the east coast, so it must be really annoying situation to all travelers.
