Howling Blizzard

The day after Christmas, north east has been hit by a severe winter storm.

According to AAP, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey have declared states of emergency while New York, Philadelphia and Boston announced snow emergencies.

Most flights were canceled and bus companies also canceled services up and down the east coast, so it must be really annoying situation to all travelers.

127 hours

NY is getting chill these day, so I have spent much time on indoor activities.

Last week, I had a chance to see the movie "127 hours" that is about a true story of courage and survival after hiking accident.

Actually,I really didn't know the story when I knew the movie, but after checking the detail of the movie a little bit, I could imagine how he escaped the situation, so I hesitated to watch the movie because it reminded me of the scene of the movies like "Sweeney Todd" or "Pans Labyrinth" that was full of blood.

Off course, I barely watched the critical scene how he escaped, since it was too realistic, painful and disturbing, but the story was quite inspiring. It's about reviewing his life and reconnecting with the people he loves round him.

I can't recommend this movie to anyone, but if you are interested in it, check this out!! You might get uplifting feeling.

Boom Boom Satellites - OVER AND OVER - US TOUR 2010

My favorite Japanese electric rock duo "Boom Boom Satellites" had toured around the east coast and the west coast in October, 2010.

I have been a their fan since 1999. I still remember when I first listened to their album "Out loud", it was quite shocking experience because at that time, what I listened to was techno music from mostly UK such as Underworld, Chemical Brothers, and Daft Punk. But their music was completely different from typical Japanese music scene, and much more sophisticated, unique, and worldwide. In addition, they have created all songs in English. That's unusual in Japan. I was hooked on their exciting and cool music right away.

Their debut was also unusual. They released first album from R&S records in Belgium, and then re-imported to Japan.

BBS has introduced many style of music, such as rock, techno, industrial, rave, break beats,hip-hop, jazz, gospel, and so on.
I had a chance to see their live performing at a small club "Wonder Bar" where Bruce Springsteen used to play in Asbury Park, NJ and "Best Buy Theater" at Times Square, NY. They did really awesome shows, and I was totally blown away. After the show, I had a chance to talk to them. It was a great night. I hope they will come back soon.

Walking holiday

Even though NYC is still hot, autumn is the best season for walking around to take photographs. I hate spring in NY because I have an allergy to pollens, so I have to stay indoor as much as I can.

I often go to West Village or Williamsburg where I can find new cafe, restaurant, and buildings. These places have constantly been changing, so I have never get bored of rambling.

Time Fries!!

My close friends sent me messages. Thanks a lot!! Yesterday, August 13th was my birthday. I'm 36 now.I still can't believe it. I don't know but, I might be categorized as a middle aged person?

Some people think that "40 is The New 20", if I thought that way, I would be still a teenager. I would have just graduated from the middle school. I would be quite young, and that makes me feel good, but getting old is not so bad because I feel that I have mentally gotten strong and stable. When I was early twenties, I was mentally horrible and brittle. I don't want to go back to those days.

I'm back!!

Long time no see!! It's already hot summer. I have been lazy a little bit, but I have started working on my new website. So I hope you will be able to check it out by October.Today, I went to my favorite spot "Flushing Bay" to take pictures. It is located on north Queens, and very close to Laguardia Airport, City Field, and Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Today was very nice dry weather, it was very comfortable.

I'm stuck

2010 is going to be a crucial year to me. I don't have specific reasons, but I sense that way, nonetheless, I have been stuck. I want to break down the status quo, but my surroundings don't let me move ahead, I suppose that comes from my laziness so far. So I can't blame on someone else. It's my fault.

I have to stand this situation for a while, but things are getting better than two month ago. In addition,  spring comes soon and snow melt away, so I hope I can move ahead.

Just do it!!

A Rainy Day On Broadway

6 PM, 23th street on Broadway. I sometimes feel that I want to take pictures a rainy day because a flash light reflects on the road, that makes a picture look gorgeous and vivid, so I can get unexpected results from wet roads. That is really interesting to me. You can try it, but make sure it's not a day falling heavy rain.
